A family friendly property, Brodsworth Hall and Gardens is a great destination for families of all ages. With two playrooms and a hands-on resource room in the house, as well as a new outdoor play area – which even features a full-sized ex-naval training boat – children are sure to have a great time! The 15- acre gardens provide the perfect space for the kids to explore, with formal gardens, fountains and the pleasure grounds to discover plus plenty of hidey holes to find!

Refreshments

For those who prefer to take it easy the former servants quarters play host to Brodsworth’s Tearooms. Delicious homemade cakes and sandwiches, quiches and light snacks are on offer to enjoy indoors or out. After a long walk around the grounds why not settle down with a home baked slice of cake, perfect with a lovely refreshing pot of Yorkshire Tea in the cosy café.

Beautifully set in a trully enchanting valley, landscaped by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown in the 18th century, the soaring early Gothic transepts of this Cistercian monastery stll survive to their original height.

Conisbrough Castle

Distance: 9 miles
One of the inspirations for Sir Waler Scott’s novel, Ivanhoe, the imposing 12th century keep and battlements tower above their valley setting revealing the strategic importance of the castle
