Access to Information

Welcome to English Heritage’s Access to Information pages.  Within these pages you will find out how to locate information already published by English Heritage and the process for making requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI Act) and Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA).

All public authorities and government departments are required to abide by the FOI Act and the DPA.  By placing a FOI request you can obtain a wide range of information held by English Heritage, subject to exemptions.  English Heritage does however, make a wide of information publicly available so please see this website and our Publication Scheme pages before placing a FOI request.  The DPA allows you to access your own personal data held by a public authority, subject to exemptions.  This is known as a Subject Access request.

English Heritage does not charge a fee for the processing of either Freedom of Information or Subject Access Requests.
